An athlete, during a qualifying tournament in Ljubljana, Slovenia, has a very bad fall and breaks his cervical vertebrae. The 17-year-old elite sportsman is declared quadriplegic!
No adequate treatment can be provided in his home country of Albania. He is therefore transferred to a new clinic in Slovenia for several operations and to begin a very long rehabilitation period.
We cover all the care required in this complicated situation as well as regular visits by his father and family to his bedside.
The patient, thanks to his young age and great physical condition, has recovered better than expected and may one day be able to walk again with mechanical aids.
It is, however, expected that, in addition to the very high costs incurred by all his hospital and outpatient rehabilitation treatments, a disability benefit will be paid to the injured sportsman.
